Happy Canada Day!

The best of the Season to all!

As we head into a new year with anticipation, it’s also time to take a quick look back on all the fun we’ve celebrated both with dogs that live with us and ones we’re connected to that live elsewhere.

• In February, handsome Barrett finished his Canadian Championship to officially become CH SureShot Privateer.
• In April, my girl Ticket, finished her Tunnelers title which qualified her for a Novice Versatility Award in nadac. In May, she also picked up a Top Novice Dog award at a trial in Red Deer.
• Later in May, Ch. SureShot Chosen One had her first litter which was co-bred with Keith O’Flaherty in NS (who did all the heavy lifting on that one).  We’re really looking forward to great performances from those kids in the future.
• In August, Bentley, Ch. SureShot Flying Spur won two Winners Dog and Best of Winners Awards at the Santa Rosa CA shows supported entry.
• Bentley also entered a temperament test where he picked up his TT title, adding to his title – Ch SureShot Flying Spur TT.
• In October, Barrett (Ch. SureShot Privateer, RN) earned his Rally Novice title thanks to owner Brenda Juskow.
• In November, a co-bred daughter of our SureShot Crown Legacy, Am. Ch. Moonsetter Certifiably SureShot, picked up her American Championship with a major win at the New Mexico specialty.
• Throughout the year, the agility girls and I kept accumulating some of the requirements for an assortment of different titles and, by the end of the year, titles were earned for Echo (Ch. SureShot Caisteal Sassenach, AgIS, AgIJS, S-NAC, ADC, S-NJC, O-NCC, O-TG-N, O-WV-N, HP-N, TN-N) and Ticket (Ch. Drumdaroch Sure’s Hot, AgNS, AgNJS, O-NAC, S-NJC, O-NCC, O-TG-N, WV-N, S-TN-N, HP-N) and for Tatum (Ch. SureShot Paper Moon, AgNS, AgJNS, S-TN-N, O-NAC, NCC, TG-N, O-NJC).

All in all, a busy but fun year!  Can’t wait to see what 2010 has in store.

Pretty as a Song

Just got a set of lovely pictures of Song (Vanora’s SureShot Gaelic Song) in celebration of her six month birthday.  Song is from the litter (BISS Am Ch. Firethorn Sandpiper Easy on the Eyes x Can. Ch. FCC Ch. SureShot Chosen One CGN) born this year at Keith O’Flaherty’s. As the breeder of her mother, I was privileged to be Song’s co-breeder and both of us co-own Song with Dianna Ellis of CA.

It’s just over a week since St. Glenn (a wonderful friend who went above and beyond what anyone expected to help out), escorted Bentley, Ch. SureShot Flying Spur to his new California home.  He’s already settling in well (Bentley, not Glenn ), is sporting a new hair cut, and is learning a new routine. Look how pretty he looks!!
